INTERNAL ARTS OF YOGA

Classical Yoga focuses on the internal landscape and unity of the body, mind, and spirit. This is achieved ultimately through the practice of mindfulness & meditation. Central to this is prana, or "Life Force." To cultivate prana (Qi: Traditional Chinese Medicine) we focus on the breath through various techniques and practices including pranayama.

To further the building of prana in the body, we emphasize the energetic system which includes the Hara, fascia, and meridians (network of energy pathways); regulated by the chakras in the yogic tradition.

These yogic practices and principles have similarities found in the ancient practice of Internal Martial Arts. While Yin Yoga developed out of the philosophy of TCM and daoyin exercises, we recognize and emphasize the ancient yogic principles and energetic practices specifically shared with Internal Martial Arts and Zen.

Through the cultivation of mindfulness, meditation, breath, energetics, somatic movement & yin stillness yoga practices, we offer a holistic approach to heightening the Awareness that already exists in our body.

Wabi Sabi Wellness Project provides workshops, training programs, retreats, and private/semi-private mentoring.
